Legal Agreement

Terms & Conditions.

Last updated: June 26, 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using Zcompressor.

1. Acceptance of Terms.

By accessing or using Zcompressor (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to all of these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service.

Zcompressor is a free, web-based utility that enables users to optimize and compress PDF documents. The entire compression process runs locally on your device within your web browser using HTML5 technologies and client-side JavaScript. No documents are uploaded to or stored on Zcompressor servers.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties.

Zcompressor is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time.
  • Any errors or defects will be corrected.
  • The compressed PDFs will always render perfectly on all devices or satisfy specific government/organizational file size limits.

4. Limitation of Liability.

In no event shall Zcompressor, its developers, or its contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • Any data corruption or file damage that may occur during the client-side compression process.
  • Unintended outcomes when handling highly sensitive or confidential information.

5. User Responsibility.

Since Zcompressor executes all code directly on your device, you are solely responsible for:

  • Ensuring your device has sufficient memory (RAM) and CPU performance to handle files of your selected size.
  • Maintaining original copies of files before processing them. We recommend keeping backups of all documents.
  • Complying with any laws or regulatory frameworks applicable to the documents you choose to optimize.

6. Open Source Licensing.

Zcompressor is open-source software distributed under the MIT License. You are free to inspect, modify, fork, and host the code independently, provided that the copyright and permission notices are included in all copies or substantial portions of the software.
