1. 100% Local Processing.
Zcompressor is built on a "zero-trust" architecture. Unlike traditional online PDF compressors, Zcompressor does not upload your documents to any remote servers. All file optimization, rendering, downsampling, and conversion happen entirely within your local web browser's memory sandbox.
Your files never leave your computer. This means your sensitive business data, personal identification documents, and private contracts are completely safe from interception, data breaches, or server-side logging.
2. Personal Data We Do Not Collect.
Because our service operates client-side, we do not require, collect, or store:
- Your PDF files or any content contained within them.
- Your name, email address, phone number, or billing information.
- User accounts or authentication credentials (no registration is required).
You are completely anonymous when using Zcompressor.
3. Local Storage & Theme Preferences.
We use your browser's local storage (LocalStorage) solely to remember your UI theme preference (dark mode vs. light mode). This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
4. Third-Party Libraries & CDNs.
Zcompressor relies on verified, open-source JavaScript libraries to function:
- pdf-lib: Used for editing, copying, and compressing PDF files.
- pdf.js: Created by Mozilla, used for rendering PDF pages to image canvas elements.
- jszip: Used to bundle multiple compressed files into a single ZIP archive for bulk download.
These libraries are loaded dynamically from public Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) such as Cloudflare (cdnjs) and unpkg. Your browser may log connection metadata with these networks when fetching the library files, which is subject to their respective privacy policies.
5. Changes to This Policy.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we do not collect user contact information, we recommend checking this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your privacy.
